Free UK shipping for orders over £65

Delivery & Returns (including How To Return)

DELIVERY TIMES

As I make all the beads and jewellery myself, and most items are made to order, I aim to post your order within 4 working days of receiving payment.

If you're in a hurry and need your item quickly, please contact me before ordering and I'll do my best to help.

DELIVERY CHARGES

I ship all orders with Royal Mail, tracked. Rates last updated August 2025.

United Kingdom
Standard (orders up to £64.99): Tracked 48, £3.50
Free delivery (orders of £65 and over): Tracked 48, free
Optional upgrade: Tracked 24, £5.00 (please remember I may need up to 4 days to make your jewellery first)
Optional upgrade for high value orders (recommended over £100): Special Delivery, tracked, signed and insured up to £750, £9.00

Rest of World (excluding Europe and the USA)
International Tracked Mail, £12.00

Within the UK, Royal Mail Tracked 48 aims to deliver within 2 to 3 days, Tracked 24 within 1 to 2 days, and Special Delivery guarantees delivery by 1pm the next day, though someone needs to be home to accept it. Outside the UK, Royal Mail aims for delivery within 5 to 7 working days. These times are approximate and come in addition to the 4 days I need to make your item.

European customers

I'm not currently able to accept orders from EU customers, including via my Etsy shop. New EU packaging waste rules (PPWR) mean registering in every EU country I'd sell into, which isn't something I'm able to do as a small studio, so EU sales are on hold until further notice.

USA customers

Since 29 August 2025, US customs rules mean all US orders carry a compulsory 10% duty charge. This is taken automatically at checkout, and I ship USA orders by Royal Mail International Tracked DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), so there's nothing further to pay on delivery.

CUSTOMS DUTY AND IMPORT CHARGES

For countries outside the UK and USA, international packages may incur extra charges before delivery. These are the customer's responsibility, as I have no control over them. Check with your country's border control if you're unsure what to expect.

OUTER PACKAGING

Your jewellery is wrapped carefully in tissue paper, with a small leaflet explaining how it's made, which is a nice touch if the item is a gift. Packaging is unbranded, with no invoice or receipt included, and I occasionally reuse packaging materials.

If there's ever a problem with your delivery, please get in touch and I'll sort it.

JEWELLERY BOXES

Most pieces come with the option of a branded, reusable, recyclable box, unless the product description states it will arrive on a card or in a pouch instead. If you'd rather not have a box, contact me before ordering and I'll adjust it. Without a box, your jewellery is sent in a branded, reusable grip seal bag, which also helps prevent tarnishing, and I tuck one of these in alongside the box regardless.

RETURNS

If you change your mind about a purchase, you can return it within 14 days of receipt for a refund or exchange. Items must arrive back in the same condition as received, in their original packaging.

For hygiene reasons, earrings can only be returned or exchanged if faulty.

I'll process your refund within 5 days of receiving the return. Return postage is the customer's responsibility, unless the item arrived damaged or faulty, in which case I'll cover it. Please let me know before you post anything back.

Your statutory rights aren't affected by any of this.

I can only accept returns for items bought directly from my website. I'll ask for your order number, or the name or email address used to order. If you bought from a shop that stocks my jewellery, you'll need to return it to them directly.

HOW TO RETURN AN ITEM

I'd recommend Royal Mail Tracked 48 (without signature) for returns, it's usually all you need unless the item is high value. Where I'm covering return postage, I'll refund the Tracked 48 rate, not Special Delivery, unless we've agreed otherwise beforehand.

You can arrange this online at royalmail.com/sending/uk/tracked-48, or take the package to a post office and pay over the counter.

Check the label on the box I sent your jewellery in, it'll show the weight and whether it's a Large Letter or Small Parcel. If it's a Small Parcel, that's usually because there's a jewellery box inside, please don't return the box itself, just wrap the jewellery in something soft like tissue or kitchen roll and use a smaller envelope or box. If it arrived as a Large Letter, you can reuse that same packaging, either sticking a new label over the old one or wrapping it in paper, and taping it securely.

If you do send the jewellery box back to me, I'm only able to return your item to you as a Large Letter afterwards.

My return address is on the outer box. Using the online Royal Mail form, select the size and weight, add my address and email (julie@beachartglass.com), and your own. It'll default to home collection, which is the easiest option if you don't have a printer, since the postie brings the label with them. If you'd rather drop it at a post office, choose that option at checkout and print the label yourself.

Expect the cost to be around £3 for a Large Letter or £3.50 for a Small Parcel.
