Glass Bead Making Workshop

Make Your Own Glass Beads With Me
A 3 hour beginner workshop in my Malvern studio, for 1 to 3 people
Looking for something a bit different, or a gift that feels genuinely special?
Spend a few hours at the flame in my Malvern studio and learn how to turn molten glass into your own handmade beads.. It’s hands-on, fascinating to watch and even better to try, and far more achievable than you might expect.
No experience needed. Most people arrive saying “I’m not very creative”… and leave with beads they’re genuinely proud of.
Perfect for…
- A birthday or special gift
- A day out with a friend or family member
- Trying something completely new
- Anyone who loves handmade jewellery or creative experiences
Most people come with a friend or receive this as a gift, it’s a lovely shared experience. But plenty of people come on their own too, for a few hours of proper me-time, with my full attention to guide you through it.
Plenty of men have taken the workshop too and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Beads for Bracelets Workshop
A relaxed, 3 hour beginner workshop for 1 to 3 people.
I’ll guide you step by step, showing you how to melt and shape glass safely in the flame. You’ll learn how beads are formed, how to work with coloured glass rods, shaping and decorating your beads with dots and simple patterns.
You’ll be able to choose your own colours from a wide selection of glass, so your beads will be completely personal to you. I can guide you on combinations if you’d like, or you can experiment and see what you create.
There’s no pressure to get it perfect. I’ll be right there helping you throughout, and everyone comes away with beads they love.
What you’ll make
- Around 15 glass beads, each one made by you
- A bracelet to wear your beads on, or a necklace if you’d prefer
- Plus the beads I make during the demonstrations
This isn’t just a “have a go” session. You’ll leave with a collection of beads you’ve made yourself, and a bracelet or necklace to wear or keep.

What to expect on the day
- A warm welcome and introduction to the process
- A full safety briefing, no prior experience needed
- Demonstrations followed by hands-on time at the torch
- Plenty of guidance
A quick note before you book
You’ll be working with molten glass in an open flame, so it does take a bit of focus, good vision and steady hands.
It’s great fun, and I’ll guide you through everything.

A little note from me
I’m Julie, and I’ve been making lampwork glass beads since 2007.
I still remember the first time I made a bead that actually worked. That moment of “oh… I’ve done it” is exactly what I love sharing in these workshops.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about doing something completely different and surprising yourself.

Gifting this experience
If you’re buying this as a gift, I can provide a voucher so the recipient can choose their own date.
It’s a lovely alternative to “more stuff”, and something they’ll remember long after.

Send me a message with a couple of dates that work for you, and I’ll get everything arranged.
Once you’re booked in, I’ll send you everything you need to know before the day.
